 | Of The Rescue is a worship band. They desire to lead and bring people to Christ through the music that they sing. Of The Rescue is based out of Wichita, Ks the band includes Matt Allen (vocals guitar), Jared Black (electric guitar), Ben Flora (bass) and Nate Yarnell (drums). Of The Rescue has been playing together since August 2008. It’s only been several months and Of The Rescue has quickly realized the music they have written encourages and lifts up those who hear it. Everyone can be rescued from something and that hope is Jesus Christ. The band desires to reach as many people outside the church as they can. When Of The Rescue isn’t out playing shows and youth group events, they are leading worship at their local church in Wichita, Ks on Sunday mornings. Of The Rescue has a passion for the church and leading worship. Of The Rescue’s first EP 2008 has 3 songs they feel has molded the band into Of The Rescue and tells a story of life. The songs on their first EP What’s Next, Rescue Me, and Live, focus on the hope, peace, assurance and life found in Christ. Of The Rescue is putting their hope in Christ so all can know the hope found in Him through their music. |

OTR is in the running to play at the Chisholm Trail Festival in Newton KS on July 2-4. We have the chance to open for such bands as Sanctus Real and This Beautiful Republic. Here's where you can help. Go to the Chisholm Trail Festival website( see below), register( takes less than 5 minutes), and vote for your 4 favorite bands that you would like to see play( hopefully OTR is one of your favorite bands). | | FRIDAY, OCTOBER 16, 2009 | | Waverly, Ohio???? Seriously | So hope everyone is doing great!
So this is the first blog to be witten... So crazy thing just happended. I am playing some music writing a new song and get a phone call from Ohio. So what do i do? I ingnore it they can leave a voicemail. The suspicion was getting to me so I had to call it back! The phone rings and a very sweet lady from Waverly, Ohio answers and says "WHO ARE YOU!" I said well who are you! Anyways she had went to the Waverly City Library and got a Steven King book and out fell one of our Of The Rescue cards. She said it kind of freaked her out with the card saying something about rescue while getting ready to read a Steven King book. Anyways it is just crazy that someone in Ohio ended up with one of our cards. We have never been close to Ohio!?!?! It is just amazing to see what God is doing in crazy ways. That ladie was encouraged and glad to see that. I just thought that was a really cool thing that happended. Definitly made our week even better!
